So Safe

What do our So Safe involve?

Do you ever concern about how safe your students’ relationships are? Do you believe they are vulnerable to abuse? You may deal with children who randomly sit on people’s laps or embrace strangers, or you may work with an adult with learning disabilities who is capable of establishing close personal connections, but you are concerned about the rate at which they join these relationships. These are typical worries and problems for every parent or carer.

It is widely known that the current requirement for educating young people and children about interactions and social safety is not being addressed. The So SAFE! Programme is a visual training tool that teaches learners how to manage and communicate about their relationships. From a student’s expectations of strangers to the complexities of an intimate relationship, the curriculum covers all levels of contact.

So SAFE! moves away from making decisions based on sentiments in order to enable and empower our learners to make their own decisions about what is appropriate to do with certain persons.
